Arrival in Lima

Arrival in Lima. Hotel transfer

DAY 2
Lima

Morning at leisure. Lunch at the Rosa Nautica Restaurant. City tour: the Plaza Mayor, official center of the city and the original site upon which Lima was founded; the historic Cathedral, built in 1534; the Presidential Palace; the Church of San Francisco with its collection of fine paintings and frescoes; modern Lima Archaeological Museum.

DAY 3
Lima – Cusco

Airport transfer. Flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the mighty Inca Empire. City tour: the Cathedral on the Plaza de Armas and Santo Domingo, a Dominican church, the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo (“The Labyrinth”), an Incan shrine dedicated to Pachamama (‘Mother Earth'), the small fortress of Puka Pukara. Dinner at the Restaurant in the Pre-Columbian Art Museum.

DAY 4
Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco

The Urubamba Valley. The local village of Pisac, famous for its colourful market (ponchos, wall hangings and jewelry). Lunch at the exclusive Huayoccari Hacienda. The massive fortress of Ollantaytambo.

DAY 5
Cusco – Machu Picchu

Check out (you might choose to leave some bags and travel with just an overnight bag today). Transfer to Machu Picchu by auto-rail. Exploration of the city's ruins with your guide. Lunch at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 6
Machu Picchu – Cusco

The choice of undertaking one of two hikes today: either to the famous Sun Gate, the point at which the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu enters the sacred sanctuary; or, alternatively, to the top of Wayna Picchu, the highest peak in the area offering fantastic views of the complex. Return to Cusco by auto-rail. Hotel transfer.

DAY 7
Cusco – Lima – Depart

Breakfast. Airport transfer. Return flight to Lima. Hotel transfer (Miraflores Park Hotel – Executive Suite will be available all day). Day at leisure. Evening transfer to the airport for your international departure flight.
