Val d'Isere is a famous mountain ski resort (since 1932), that has managed to preserve an imitable color of a patriarchal Alpine village regardless its modern infrastructure.
There is the first independent mountain ski school in France (“Top Ski”) that many experts consider to be the best one in the world. In 1992 Val d'Isere was chosen to the centre for winter Olympic Games.
